Achievements

For my final year project i created a new website concept to aid and assistance plus size and petite women in searching for clothing and products that are designed for their shape. The website, named ShapeShop, collaborated both high street and independent plus size and petite ranges onto one platform to create a shopping destination for plus size and petite customers. This involved a dissertation of research for the concept and a industry standard business plan including a detailed financial five year forecast for the company.

Along side 8 fellow students, i raised £3000 for charity with half the money going to M.E Research, a illness that has affected my life considerably, and the second half contributing towards to BCU Fashion Retail Management Graduate Fashion Week fund. We put on a 1920s themed night as part of our Event Management module which had a private screening of the film Chicago as well as themed decor and a hypnotist. This module taught me so much about management and skills including fundraising and marketing of the event.

I completed a 10 week placement at high street retailer New Look Head Office in London. During this time i was part of the Brand Marketing and Womenswear 

Skirts and Shirts & Woven Tops Merchandising teams assisting with daily tasks and fully expanding my skills working within a office environment and the expectations that needed to be met.

'During my 10 weeks in London, I emersed myself with head office lifestyle and the excitement of living and working in the capital. My new teams welcomed my with open arms, guiding me and allowing me to learn and progress during my time with them. I gained so much confidence in myself as well as progressing my skills in communication, research, time management and computer based programs.'
